Job Description
Teaching Center Manager
Location: Hanoi · Full-time · On-site
Reports to: Head of Academics / CEO
Manages: Mentors, Academic Ops, Class Assistants
TeenUp is building emotional AI for families, backed by VCs and international organizations such as Iterative, Acumen, EMpower, Solve MIT. We are building an ecosystem that helps students grow up safe, healthy, and happy, guided by a Students First mindset and a fast-growing startup environment.
Why This Role Exists
TeenCare’s teaching centers are where trust is earned or lost.
This role exists to own academic reality:
- Are students showing up?
- Are they actually learning?
- Are parents satisfied — and renewing?
If attendance drops, outcomes stagnate, or CSAT slips — this role owns the fix.
What You Own (Non-Negotiable)
You are the single point of accountability for:
1. Attendance Rate
- Weekly and monthly attendance by cohort, mentor, and center
- Drop-off diagnosis (schedule, mentor quality, student motivation, parent friction)
- Rapid recovery plans for at-risk cohorts
Target: ≥85% sustained attendance
2. Learning Outcomes
- Clear outcome definition per program (behavioral, academic, emotional)
- Pre-/post-assessment tracking
- Mentor performance tied to student progress, not vibes
Target: Measurable improvement across ≥70% of students per cohort
3. CSAT (Parents & Students)
- Own CSAT surveys, response rates, and follow-ups
- Close the loop on every low score
- Identify systemic issues vs individual noise
Target: CSAT ≥4.6 / 5, zero unresolved complaints
What You Do Day-to-Day
- Run weekly academic performance reviews (attendance, outcomes, CSAT)
- Coach mentors relentlessly: feedback, shadowing, retraining, replacement if needed
- Enforce academic standards — remove low performers fast
- Coordinate with CS, Ops, and Product when patterns emerge
- Build playbooks: onboarding, intervention, recovery, escalation
- Report numbers, not narratives
What “Good” Looks Like After 90 Days
- Attendance stabilized above target
- Clear, repeatable definition of “learning outcomes” per program
- Mentor quality visibly upgraded (fewer complaints, higher retention)
- Parents trust the system — fewer escalations, higher renewals
- Leadership can see academic health in one dashboard
Who You Are
You will fail here if you are:
- Conflict-averse
- “Nice” but soft on standards
- Uncomfortable holding educators accountable with data
You will thrive if you are:
- Obsessed with execution and measurement
- Comfortable managing teachers, mentors, and parents
- Calm under pressure, ruthless about standards
- Able to turn messy human problems into systems
Requirements
- 3+ years in education operations, teaching management, or academic leadership
- Proven experience owning attendance, outcomes, or satisfaction metrics
- Strong people management — coaching and corrective action
- High data literacy (Sheets, dashboards, cohort analysis)
- On-site presence required
How Performance Is Measured
You are evaluated only on:
- Attendance rate
- Learning outcome improvement
- CSAT
- Mentor retention & performance quality
